English Classes

At the ETC, Rachel offers a variety of classes designed to meet the diverse needs of children. Children are carefully placed into groups with peers who are working at the same English level and share similar interests. This thoughtful placement ensures that lessons are planned to be both engaging and relevant to each child. We provide options to support every stage of English learning, creating a fun and supportive environment for every student.

Homework activity by Naomi (8 years old).

The activity followed a word classes lesson. The homework was to write a description about someone and include proper nouns, common nouns, adjectives and similes. Well done Naomi!

Childrens Group Classes

At The ETC, we offer a diverse range of small classes for children in English. Classes have a maximum of 6 children. Rachel takes great care in placing each child in the right class based on their learning level and interests. Children are first invited to the ETC to meet Rachel and see the classroom environment. During this visit, children take part in fun and interactive English activities so that Rachel can assess their English level in a relaxed, inviting setting.

Though it may feel like playtime to your child, these activities help determine the most suitable class for them. By thoughtfully placing children with peers at the same level, Rachel ensures that every student thrives in a supportive and well-matched learning environment.

At the ETC, we offer personalised one-on-one classes tailored to meet each student's unique needs and goals. Private sessions allow us to address specific areas of improvement and accelerate learning. We support students at their own unique pace, planning around their learning goals. Private lessons take place at the ETC or in the comfort of the student’s home.

Supporting International Moves

We provide tailored lessons if you're a native English speaker and want your child to keep up with their peers back home, or if you are planning on moving abroad and want to prepare your child. Lessons can follow the British, American, or Australian curricula. This approach provides continuity and support, ensuring a smooth transition between countries.

Selective School Entrance Exams

Rachel offers private tutoring in English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning for selective school entrance exams to ensure children are fully prepared. Rachel has successfully tutored children for places in highly competitive schools. Students have achieved places in top international schools, such as Dulwich College and Kings’ School.
